3-PITCH SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT RULES

Philosophy/Registration Information/Complete Event Package

General rules of Softball apply except for the following:

1. Batter is given 3 pitches (chances) to hit a fair ball.

2. Batting side must supply a pitcher who may NOT touch or field a batted ball at any time. If the pitcher does touch the ball or is hit by a batted ball, the batter is automatically out and play becomes “dead”.

3. No base stealing.

4. Gloves may be worn by all players. Mitts may only be worn by the catcher or first base.

5. Cleats must NOT be worn.

6. The catcher MUST wear a mask at all times.

7. Infield Fly Rule of softball will be used. – If there is a runner(s) on the bases, and the ball is “popped up” on the infield, and there are fewer than two (2) out, the batter is automatically out and runners advance at own risk.
