Above, the informative discussion the Silver Birch & Red Maple book club members of St. Patrick (Lucan) school engaged in during 1st recess on Monday, April 14! Some of these book club members have already completed the required 5 titles in either fiction or nonfiction and already qualify to vote for favourite story out of the ten Canadian authors that are competing to win student's votes. The book club members enjoyed some light munchies and fantastic referrals of great stories that are in the competition this year. Thanks to all the students in the book club for making this library program such a success.

Recently at St. Thomas Aquinas, Grade 11 students who met Jean Vanier in October led students from the developmental education class in a day long retreat. Activities included prayer, games, cookie decorating, music, art and Mass. Everyone had a great day and new friendships were made.
Caption could read: Canadian rowing champion Darcy Marquardt spoke with Mr. Lima's and Mr. D'Arminio's classes at St. Bernadette School this past week. Darcy was sharing her sport's use of math as part of the Math In Real Life series.

Mme Brown's Grade 3 class at St. Anthony French Immersion School had an opportunity to work with University of Western Ontario graduate students on a series of science experiments involving seeds and plants. Jason Brown (Mme Brown's husband), Chris Armstrong, Lee Stach and Kristen Vandekieft helped the students examine plants and seeds as part of their science curriculum.

The Primary Division at St David School enjoyed a visitor to the Library from Judy Ann Sadler last week. She talked about writing non-fiction books, displayed her many amazing hand-made crafts, and everyone got to make a "Button Buddy" to take home. It was a fun morning. The St. Thomas More School signing club lead the school in song during the school Mass. (Above)

More than 12-hundred student-athletes from 28 secondary schools took part in the first track meet of the new season yesterday behind Regina Mundi Catholic College.
