Catholic Principals from across
Ontario are in London today for their annual
Conference and AGM - the second time they have
held it in the Forest City in the past five
years. The successful conference is a
testament to the hard work of LDCSB Principals
and Vice-Principals, 35 of them in all, who took
part in the organization of the event.
The
Conference, which runs over three days, was
opened last night with a keynote address from
Max Valiquette, one of the country's foremost
experts on youth culture and marketing. (Left)
He is the founded and president of Youthography,
Canada's leading youth marketing consultancy.
Youthography is a youth-focuses communications
agency, managing market research and marketing
programs for a wide range of clients and
organizations.
Highlights
from today include a mass, concelebrated by
Bishop Ronald Fabbro, Bishop of London and
Archbishop Thomas Collins, Archbishop of
Toronto. (Left) Archbishop Collins also delivered
a keynote address this morning. Former
Education Minister Sean Conway is delivering
another keynote address to the conference.
Breakout sessions touch on many of the key
issues facing Catholic educators today: inclusive
schools, greening school communities, violence
in the schools and where do Catholic schools go
from here?

What they said...
"Each of our graduates owes you
a debt of thanks for your stewardship and for
helping to nurture them. But the province owes
you that same debt of thanks for the benefits
those graduates have brought and continue to
bring to the world around them."
... John Ferris, LDCSB Chair
"My experience as a principal gives
me an inside view of what you accomplish and the
challenges you face and it allows me to fully
appreciate the exceptional role each of you
plays in the education of our children. Your
service to Catholic education, your
contributions and your leadership are very much
appreciated."
...Wilma de Rond, Director of Education
