The Ontario Catholic Supervisory Officers' Annual General Meeting honoured two retiring Superintendent of Education from the LDCSB: Corrie Gicante and Gary Clarke (Above left and right)  The AGM was held last weekend 
Carolyn Wilson was a Special Guest Presenter: at the CEC this week, speaking on Media Literacy and the Catholic Student.  Her presentation discussed  what role the media playsin the lives of Catholic students and how  they use it.  She also talked about how  Catholic educators can teach the media literacy strand while developing a proactive approach to the media. Her  interactive presentation including media clips and online resources.  Carolyn Wilson is a full-time teacher and president of the Media Literacy Association. She has lectured widely and given numerous workshops on the media, gender representation, and the role ofmedia literacy in communications technology programs. She also co-authored the popular textbook, Mass Media and Popular Culture, Version 2.
