Holy Week in the LDCSB

Mrs. Nemett and Mrs. Hayes organized the presentation of the Stations of the Cross for students and staff at St. Anne's School. The students also present the Stations of the Cross today at St. Anne's Church. (Above)

"May this penitential season be for every Christian a time of authentic conversion and intense knowledge of the mystery of Christ, who came to fulfil every justice."

An Easter Message from the Chair of the Board of Trustees

This week will see millions of Christians around the world celebrate Easter by reflecting upon the meaning of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Today, Easter carries the same message of hope and courage that it did when Jesus was crucified - a message that God can overcome the injustices in the world giving strength and courage, enabling us to face each day.

Our Catholic Faith promises a new creation. There is hope of new life beyond death - hope that rests in God, who raised Jesus from the dead, can also raise each one of us above whatever it is that weighs us down. God in Christ can make even the darkest day look bright.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I ask that the peace of Christ surround all this Easter

An Easter Message from the Director of Education

I want to wish you and your families a holy and happy Easter, as we journey from winter into spring.

There is still much to be done before we finish the school year. Let us use this holiest time of the year to re-establish what is really important in our lives and to re-dedicate ourselves to the mission of Catholic Education.

The Easter Season is the most hopeful time of year in our liturgical calendar. It is fitting that our theme for this year and the theme for Catholic Education week is 'Rejoicing in Hope.' Easter reminds us that there are many reasons to be hopeful as we journey ahead together.

I hope that you and your family will be blessed this Easter Season with forgiveness, joy and resurrection.

 Director of Education

A tableau re-enactment and prayerful meditations depicting the meaning of the Stations of the Cross was performed by the gr. 3/4 and 4 classes of St. Vincent de Paul in celebration of Holy Thursday.

The staff and students of St. Robert participated in a reverent prayer service this morning featuring the readings, music and artwork on THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS. The liturgy was presented by Mrs. Santandrea's Grade 8 class while the plasticine art was produced by Mr. Hewey's Grade 6/7. (Above)

Sacred Heart's grade 6/7 class reflect on the Easter Triduum with the Stations of the Cross.

On February 1 the new Keeping Our Kids Safe at School Act (Bill 157) came into force. This legislation supports the London District Catholic School Board's belief that all members of our school community - staff, students, parents, and community agencies - have a role to play in making our schools a safe place in which to learn.

Find out what's being done to keep our kids safe and what parents should know.  Click on the Bulletin Board on the LDCSB front page.

Schools across the LDCSB have been busy collecting money to help the earthquake victims in Haiti. To date they have raised more than 60-thousand dollars and the total continues to climb.  If you want to help, donations are being collected by a number of relief agencies, including the Red Cross and  the Catholic charities:
Development and Peace
and
Free  the Children
