School Year Theme is "Good News for All"

A Focus on Graduate Expectations

A Message from the Director of Education

Dear Members of  the London District Catholic School Board Community:

Welcome back! I hope that you enjoyed a safe and happy summer with your friends and family and are ready to return to what I hope will be a faith-filled and productive learning experience.

Our theme this year is "Good News for All" through the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations as we mark the tenth year of their implementation. Catholic education is distinctive in its role to form the whole child through faith formation and we are led and guided by the Catholic Graduate Expectations. They are our guide for planning, instructional strategies, evaluation and assessment. The Expectations build our life roles, skills and attitudes that will be carried and developed over our lifetime.  As educators in the Catholic Faith, we work together with our homes and parishes to form the human person emerging within each of our students. Our faith formation informs our search for knowledge, skills and understanding as well as our values, attitudes and actions. We have an enormous responsibility as educators, parents, parishes and students to teach and follow the example of Jesus and the Gospels each day.

May this year bring you many blessings as we courageously journey together to fulfill our individual callings in Christ's name.

Wilma de Rond
Director of Education
