Elementary Athletes Shine in Track Meet
Close to six thousand elementary students from
across the region took part in the Hans Janssen Memorial Track
and Field Meet this week at TD Waterhouse stadium. They had to
dodge the raindrops some afternoons, but put on an amazing
performance never-the-less.
Thanks to all of the athletes who took
part, the teachers who trained them and the small army of volunteers
who pulled it all together.
(the official results will
be available next week)
Mother Teresa's Gregory MacNeill
- shown
at right exploding from the starting blocks - is the male
winner of the Bob Gage Award as the top graduating track and
field athlete in TVRAA.
MacNeil is part of the LDCSB contingent in
the Ontario Track and Field Championships, where he is a prohibitive
favourite to win gold. He has already collected 23 conference,
WOSSAA, OFSAA West Regional and OFSAA gold medals. He also set
a Canadian interscholastic record of 13.21 seconds in the 110-metre
hurdles.

On
February 1 the new Keeping Our Kids Safe at School Act (Bill
157) came into force. This legislation supports the London District
Catholic School Board's belief that all members of our school
community - staff, students, parents, and community agencies - have
a role to play in making our schools a safe place in which to learn.

safe and what parents should know. Click on the Bulletin Board
