Matthew Druzcz, Student
Trustee, lays a wreath at the Victoria Park Cenotaph in London, as
Wilma de Rond, Director of Education and Bill Hall, Vice Chair, look
on. The three laid the wreath on behalf of the London District
Catholic School Board to remember those who have made the ultimate
sacrifice and given their lives in war so we may live in peace.
Thousand of people jammed the park to pay their respects. The
Knights of Columbus was one of the many groups involved in the military
parade to the Cenotaph. (Below) There were Remembrance Day services
all across the Board this week, as each of our school marked the day
in a special way. For a look at what some of the schools did,

CELEBRATE CANADIAN CHILDREN’S
BOOK WEEK November 14-21, 2009
Tomorrow
- November 14th - kicks off Canadian Children’s Book Week to
celebrate and educate kids on Canadian children’s literature. Each
year TD Canada Trust distributes the gift of a book for each grade
one student to acknowledge the importance of reading and literacy.
Happy St. Robert students show off their new books distributed by
librarian, Leonie Thibert. Across the district, librarians will
observe the week with special events, and author visits and create
excitement about the magic of reading for learning and pleasure.
Our
Mission
To serve the
student in a community that nurtures a living faith and provides a
