God Bless Our School

ST. PAUL'S OUTDOOR MASS AND SCHOOL BLESSING WITH HIS EXCELLENCY BISHOP SHERLOCK

St. Paul's school celebrated its first ever outdoor Mass this Wednesday with His Excellency, Bishop Sherlock.

The school community celebrated a beautiful and spiritual Mass organized by Mrs. Rossi's and Miss Nicoletti's Grade 3 and 4 classes.

With a procession of representatives from each class, Bishop Sherlock blessed the new addition of St. Paul's school and the newly refurbished statue of St. Paul.

After a brief gathering and celebration, bibles were blessed and given personally by the Bishop to all Grade four students.

A Champion of Inclusion!

A Dramatic Arts Teacher at John Paul ll Catholic Secondary School is the winner of the 2009 'Champion of Inclusion' Award for the LDCSB.  Penny Shore-Talbot received the award today at the Faculty of Education.

She is described as demonstrating an unwavering commitment to promoting an inclusive environment for ALL students, while honuring their inherent dignity. On a daily basis, she exemplifies the qualities of an inclusive educator who demonstrates an understanding of the value, worth and ability of all students, regardless of their 'perceived' limitations.

The award was developed in 1999 to recognize, celebrate and highlight educators who live, breathe and implement inclusive education. These educators use specific, authentic activities and roles to demonstrate to others the worth of inclusion and, as important - that the most significant ingredients for successful inclusion are effort and attitude.
