St. Anne's Catholic Elementary School is the
newest member of the LDCSB family. The school opened its doors on
Tuesday for the first time and as of today has an enrolment of 530
students. It amalgamates students from the St. Gabriel's Catholic
Elementary School and St. Raphael's Catholic Elementary School
communities.
Principal Ron Scholtes says things got
better each day as this week progressed and the students and staff
learned their new routines. There is still some work to be done in
the gym, the library and the schoolyard. "Everybody loves the
new building and when it is all done will have an A-1 school,"
said Principal Scholtes. Students and
parents were given tours of the new school last week. The response
has been very positive. "Everybody loves how bright the school
is with lots of natural light and how fresh it is," said the
principal. "We have had nothing but positive comments from
parents."
