Running for Terry/Cheering for United Way!

Terry Fox Runs and United Way Football Games Highlight a Busy Week

Hundreds of our students ran, walked and wheeled in the annual Terry Fox National School Run to raise money for the fight against cancer.  Each year over 3 million students in schools across Canada take part in a coast-to-coast, simultaneous Terry Fox Run.
Across our system, students, staff and families joined  together in celebration of the 29th Anniversary of Terry's Marathon of Hope, to honour the memory of a young Canadian hero and to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Several of our Elgin Schools have also participated in the "Hike for Mike Walk" for cancer research. Above, students from St. Thomas Aquinas .showed their support for a very good cause. For more on the Terry Fox National School Run, click on the 'In Our Schools' page.

Hundreds of students showed their support for their teams and for the United Way Campaign this week, cheering on their favourite players at the annual United Way Football Games at TD Waterhouse stadium on the UWO campus.  Above, the Regina Mundi Catholic College stands were a sea of colour.
