Accessibility Fundraiser
On Friday, July 20, 2012 St. Charles School Council members and their children set up a tent and BBQ to begin raising funds to make the St. Charles playground equipment wheelchair accessible and inclusive.
Their efforts netted over $2000.00 with cheques continuing to arrive.
Also, many thanks to Lauren Richards, Grade 1 student, who wrote to local businesses in June including The Hayter Group, concerned that several of her classmates in wheelchairs could not access the playground equipment. Several businesses have replied to Lauren's plea by responding with cheques that continue to arrive.
The Hayter Group responded to Mrs. Richards and Lauren informing them that they offer a quarterly donation to groups that receive the online votes. So, as of today, council members are contacting as many families and friends in the community as possible and asking them to logon to the Hayter Group website and vote for #21 St. Charles Fundraiser. The program is called The Hayter Group Gives Back program. The deadline to vote for #21 is September 30, 2012 and the possibility of St. Charles winning money to help fund this most worthy project.
Here is the link and remember that the St. Charles Fundraiser is # 21. Please tell EVERYONE you know, and tell them to tell everyone they know to VOTE VOTE VOTE... and thank you!
