What is Nexus?

(nek’sas) n. 1) a connection 2) a connected series or group.
A coming together or the point where edges (or ideas!) meet.

NEXUS is a gathering of gifted and talented students and educators for the purposes of developing and refining our collective vision of the FUTURE. Ten conference topics will be debated, deconstructed and rebuilt by teams of students from across southwestern Ontario.

Focus:

NEXUS will concentrate 400 gifted and talented secondary school students who will use their critical and creative thinking skills to design and define the Canadian Experience in the Year 2025.

Objectives:

  • To connect the Past with the Present
  • To connect the Present with the Future
  • To connect gifted and talented students with their peers
  • To connect their creativity with their Power to become
    “Change Agents”

Who Can Attend?

Just as our 10 conferences naturally converge, so too will 400 attending high school students from the western region of the province. If you are in grade 9-12, this is an event for you!

When and Where will NEXUS take place?

NEXUS will take place at from 9:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m., at Sir George Ross Secondary School in London, Ontario on October 14, 2004.
