The Western Ontario Region Committee for Gifted, in its present form, was organized in November 1988. Each school board in the Western Region was invited to send a person with responsibilities for Education of the Gifted to a one day strategic planning and organizational meeting. Representatives from the Faculties of Education in London and Windsor and from the Association for Bright Children were also included.
The committee operates under the Regional Special Education Council.
The bi-monthly meetings held each year provide a forum for sharing ideas and encouragement relating to Gifted Students.
