Summer
Reading 2010! |
Studies
have shown that students who continue to read for pleasure or
learning over the summer months maintain or even increase their
literacy skills -- giving them a good head start on learning when
they return to school. On the other hand, students who don't read
over the summer holidays actually lose a percentage of the literacy
skills that they worked so hard to develop over the school year,
which can lead to difficulties in the new school year.
Reading as
little as 4 or 5 books over the summer can make all the difference!
Here are some tips, activities and awesome links to help you and
your child make the most of summer reading fun! |
