We welcome everyone back to another school year. A special warm welcome is extended to the new "Titans" entering into Grade 9 and to those transferring from other schools.
It was about a year ago that I was introducing myself as the new principal of RMC - where did the time go?!! When I took some time to reflect over the summer about the past year, I came to realize how truly blessed I was serving this community. Our students and staff rose to the occasion, time and time again throughout the 2010-2011 school year. Every request for help was met with a resounding YES! As a Catholic school community, we set a high standard of excellence in academics, arts and athletics but more importantly in our faith journey as seen through the countless activities and events organized in service to our community. My hope is that this momentum will spill over into this year and that our new students and their families will experience this faith filled love for life and service to community.
We have lots to celebrate with the opening of yet another year. First of all you will notice that the construction in the front entrance has been completed and the new cross has been erected on the roof top. As a side note, I am very proud to share that the company that designed, built and erected the cross was Circelli Steel. This family owned business includes three brothers - all RMC grads. We certainly hope that this new beautiful cross will serve as both the focal point and new 'beacon' for our school for many generations to come. The other great news is that our double gym is now the new home of a brand new, state of the art, score clock. With the help of the RMC Catholic School Council, RMC Athletics and private donations - the Paul Furfaro Memorial score clock was erected over the summer. Mr. Furfaro was a former teacher at RMC who passed away in June 2008.
In closing, best wishes to all of you as we embark on a new school year. May God continue to bless the RMC community in all of our efforts.
Nick Vecchio,
Principal

Regina Mundi Catholic College is fortunate to be connected with the community Crimestoppers program. The Student Crime Stoppers program was designed to encourage and assist students in "taking charge" and contributing in a positive manner towards making schools a crime-free environment. The program has the ability to provide our schools with benefits that usually affect all our communities.
The Student Crime Stoppers Program encourages students with information concerning a criminal activity to call 1-800-222-TIPS anonymously. Callers never have to give their name or testify in court. The call is taken anonymously and given a code number for reference. Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display. Operators work around the clock 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your tip leads to an arrest or successful school conclusion, you can earn a cash reward of up to $2,000. Information may also be given anonymously by filling out a form in the RMC guidance office and submitting it in the wooden box beside the reception area, or by e-mailing crimestoppers@office.ldcsb.on.ca. In your e-mail, place the text RMC at the top of your message so we know it is from our school. E-mails WILL NOT BE TRACED. They will be used in complete confidence.
