SCHOOL UNIFORM

Students are expected to be in uniform throughout the school day, whenever on school property. All clothing, except footwear, must be purchased from R.J. McCarthy Ltd. By choosing to attend Regina Mundi Catholic College, students and their parents have made a serious and long-term commitment to Catholic Education. Our school community has a strict school uniform policy. In choosing Regina Mundi, parents and students accept the school uniform as an integral part of the school community life. As a student at Regina Mundi, you are an ambassador of all that Regina Mundi Catholic College symbolizes. Because of this, the uniform should be worn proudly and must be in good repair. Though we recognize our individuality, the uniform at Regina Mundi Catholic College is part of what unites us as one community.

Students out of uniform provide a challenge to the school's administration, for it is out of a sense of social justice that all staff members are called on to maintain this policy - to be fair to all students and families that have invested in the policy, and comply with it daily. Therefore, those who appear out of uniform face a range of consequences (to be determined by the administration of the school), including being sent home to change and return to school, facing in-school detention or suspension. The viceprincipal( s) - who will make every attempt to be as compassionate and fair as possible, will make final discretionary judgement. However, parents and students need to realize that persistent and habitual neglect of the school's uniform policy constitutes a breach of the Code of Behaviour, and may result in suspension from school. Please refer to this Student Handbook for detailed clarification of the school's uniform policy.

ALUMNI

There are many Regina Mundi College Alumni that "surf the net," so we established an Alumni Guest Book.

The Guest Book provides the opportunity for alumni to be in contact with each other, and talk about their former lives at Regina Mundi College. If you would like to be listed in the Regina Mundi College Alumni Guest Book, please click here and fill out the on-line form. Former staff members are also welcome!

We will verify the information and will then list you in the Guest Book which will appear in our Home Page. When you respond with this data, you should expect to receive electronic correspondence from other alumni.

We will not post your contact information nor will we share this information with other organizations. The only information posted on this website, provided you've filled out the form for the RMC Alumni Guest Book, is your name, year of graduation and e-mail address.

SAFE SCHOOL INFO

Safer Internet Day 2011

This Safer Internet Day, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection is reminding parents, educators and everyone else with children in their lives why it's important to educate themselves on how to keep children safe online. The days where children spend the majority of their free time outdoors are behind us. Today's reality is that kids are spending a great deal of their time online.

According to recent statistics published by the Pew Research Centre, 93% of teens aged 12-17 are now on the Internet, 89% of them go online from home and 77% of them go online from school. Since most children's online activity happens at home or at school, parents and teachers are positioned to teach kids about safer Internet practices. While the Internet opens doors leading to a world of great information, communication and entertainment, it can also be a direct path to danger for children. Please take a moment to visit "The door that's not Locked" (www.thedoorthatsnotlocked.ca) where you will find a number of new internet safety resources at your finger tips to help keep your kids safe online.

We thank you for your time and for your continued support. Together, we can make the internet a safer place for our children.
