Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy in our school is open to all who would like to be involved. Our school "Chaplaincy Team" is made up of both staff and students. Our motto is "Service Through Action" and we strive towards bringing others closer to Jesus Christ through the things we do. Last year, our team organized Masses and prayer services, created posters and banners to promote outreach projects, sold hamburgers for our upcoming mission trip, led morning prayer, organized "Prayer Crawl 9" where a bus load of students prayed at many different locations in and around our city, and made monthly visits to help at the food bank.

Every morning we begin our day with a prayer offered for our school, our families, and our community. We come together as a faith community to celebrate Masses throughout the school year, and small groups, classes, and teams are encouraged to celebrate Mass in our school chapel. Grade 10 students will take part in a "Relationship" Retreat. Grade 11 and 12 students have the opportunity to attend a COR (Christ in Others Retreat) weekends being offered in February. This is an amazing retreat experience. Don't miss it!!! Our Senior Retreats, for Grade 12 & 5th year students, are offered once each semester and focus on the gifts in our lives from our God. On this retreat, students see more clearly how staying anchored to their faith, family, and friends can get through all that life sends their way. During Advent and Lent, our school organizes projects that reach out to help those in need, both in our community and around the world. Also during Lent, area priests come into our school to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation with our students and staff. Finally, there are opportunities for students to help others by sharing their old winter wear, by sharing their time at the food bank, and by sharing their prayers on this year's "Prayer Crawl 10".

This year, we will work together to nurture our relationships with God and to foster our community of faith.
