Guidance Centre

The focus of the Guidance programme is on career development, interpersonal development and post secondary information for students.

The delivery of the programme involves instructional units to both small and large groups, and individual counselling sessions. These sessions cover a wide range of topics from study skills, goal-setting, career exploration and decision-making to resume writing and job search techniques.

CHARTING YOUR GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

* Course decisions should be based on ensuring that your son/daughter achieves success. Students and parents are encouraged to engage in conversation with teachers and Guidance counsellors to ensure a successful year.

All students will have the opportunity to hear a presentation from a Guidance Counsellor during the month of January or early February. This presentation will focus on achievement of Graduation requirements, awareness of post secondary destinations and an overview of all available program opportunities both at STA and within the LDCSB. We encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity and be ready to ask any questions they may have regarding the next school year. Individual appointments prior to course submission will probably not be possible.

It is important that all students submit their course selections by the assigned date. Late submission could jeopardize student’s ability to get into desired courses.
